Unsanctioned Camping is Unsafe! Fully Fund Compassionate Intervention!

The Seattle City Council reminds me of the imbecilic townspeople on the old TV show "Green Acres". Truly disgraceful.

Keep Green Lake and Woodland Park safe, family friendly recreational areas. This city in conjunction with the non profit community has mismanaged the homeless situation in Seattle and desperately needs to build night shelters, NOT allow encampment in our parks.

This is bad policy and the City Council should stop wasting time on it and focus on what can be done to find safe shelters.

Safe and unobstructed access to and enjoyable of Seattle's greenspaces is one of the most important contributors to quality of life for residents and visitors of all backgrounds, income levels, etc. This proposal is detrimental and dangerous to all stakeholders, homeless residents included. This measure will also make future initiatives focused on permanent, stable housing-first programs even more difficult to implement in the future. It's irresponsible on so many levels.

It is not an acceptable solution for the homeless to camp out in parks. It is not fair to anyone in the city. Continue with the plan and budget Tim Burgess is proposing.

When people set up camps in a public place, their use of that public place for their private use has the consequence of driving out all other people and all other uses. This isn't what public spaces are intended for. Do not support the proviso proposed by Council Member Sawant in any way. Thank you.

I'd like to see the City Council allow the homeless to set up camp in their front and back yard.

Stop trying to destroy our greenspaces while upzoning at the same time. You can't have it both ways. You can't reduce single family households and expect residents to utilize parks while you make them unsafe with homeless and drug addicts. We need better solutions.

No more unsanctioned encampments. We need more sanctioned encampments to help homeless get off the streets

We need safer solutions for ALL citizens. Housing, bathrooms and support everyone.

People in the USA should not have to live in tents, in the middle of winter, as a result of hardship.

The City must enforce trespassing laws for the safety for all of its citizens.

This council's insistence that public safety should take a backseat to the desires of people who blazenly violate the law in their attempts to turn Seattle into a giant squatters heaven continue to boggle my mind... try actually listening to your constituents and acting for the public good rather than trying to make a name as a liberal extremists at the expense of the city's legal tax paying residents.

while sweeps have problems, this action would put more people in harms way, not to mention environmental impact on neighborhoods and parks.

We can help the homeless best by providing decent Lon term accommodation.

Some of the camping is destroying ecological and vegetation restoration work which took a decade. Literally hundreds of volunteers did that work. Allowing campers to destroy that work is unneeded, harmful to public welfare, and totally disrespectful of those who volunteered.

No public camping.

I have seen our beautiful city turn into homeless camps every where they can put them almost anywhere and The unsightly garbage where these people set up their tents is horrible to look at we have a law here it’s called do not litter and we have big fines if you do that’s the way I was raised you do not litter these people don’t care about themselves why should they care about our beautiful city I don’t think they should be able to camp any place they want if the city wants to set up certain areas and certain parts of the city for them to camp then the city should do it but not in our parks not under our freeways
