The City Council does not seem to be familiar with the concept of "enabling" irresponsible behavior. We need to help those who cannot help themselves, and we also need to enforce our existing legal prohibitions on camping on public land and rights of way....we see the jars of urine and piles of trash in every neighborhood. This is disrespectful of those of us who are hard-working, responsible, tax-payers.

I believe the new approach with navigation teams is affective The proviso allowing green spaces for homeless to sleep would be a distraction from the effectiveness of the current programs

It does depend on what % of the budget this entails.

Let's get real! Do NOT allow any camping in parks or anyplace else that has not been designated for specific homeless encampments.

These settlements are pushing people to move out of Seattle. Clean them up.

Camping in parks and other public spaces damages amenities meant for all citizens and creates sanitation and fire hazards. If it deserves to be banned on school property, it deserves to be banned elsewhere.

We need rational solutions to homelessness. Unsanctioned camping only increases the friction with the sheltered community, and does not address the underlying issues faced by the homeless.

I fully endorse Speak Out Seattle and what they are trying to do - with no money. The City Council is out of touch with the residents of Seattle. They said they didn't want what they were proposing last year - we still don't want it!!!

Unsanctioned camping is illegal and dangerous. Please fund the navigator teams.

Clean up our City. Allowing unauthorized and unlawful camping is not a policy, it is a symptom of the City Council not fulfilling its obligations to the citizens of Seattle.

My main concern is that the "proviso" would prevent Navigation Teams from offering services on most (i.e., non-active) City property occupied by homeless people.

Sweeps = intervention. Please fund the interventions, the shelters and services and continue compassionate sweeps that encourage our homeless neighbors towards more sustainable help.

Please do not allow camping in city parks. This is a horrible idea and not appropriate use of public land that belongs to us all through tax paying dollars. This is a terrible idea. Tried in Portland and was a disaster. Providing housing and services is a much better idea

Drug rehab plus a job. The laws need to include a no choice policy of treatment and employment in the area of cleaning up the camps and helping with the rehab process.

You had me at "strike down Kshwami..". Anything that spews from that creature's twisted maw is pure sewage.

Thank you for your diligence and recognition of a confusing proviso recently introduced to allow encampments, trash, and potential crime into most green spaces in our beautiful city.
