Please work more efficiently with the resources you have now. It will not work to keep legitimizing use of public lands to shelter the homeless. It will never be enough.

As has been noted by people who have keen knowledge of this matter, if a person isn't sick when he or she starts living on the street, if she lives there long enough, it will make her sick. See Jonathan Kozol's book (now fairly old, but still true) Rachel and Her Children.

Identify the ones that will accept help , enforse laws to rid us of the Herion addicts / sellers that won’t . Help the helpable ... get rid of the rest . City is a disgrace due to the enablers & lack of effective leadership . Better managment of resources now . Don’t make Seattle a destination city for addicts & crime .

Stop the insanity Seattle! Our beautiful city is becoming a cesspool. Keep voting these ultra liberal progressives in and you reap what you sew.

Sweeps are a necessary tool to remove people from places were they should not be living.

Heroin- buying-selling is illegal Camping in parks is illegal Public intoxication is illegal Robbery/theft Litter/trash huge, illegal Nuisance/threats 72 hour+ parking illegal These are laws being broken (RVs are drug stores btw.) You don't fix things by allowing crazies to break laws. Pony up. Do the right thing. The drug epidemic is a lot of people's faults, from doctors over prescribing, to the city council hiding in the "homeless" camps, (Of course druggies are homeless! This absolute squalor sort of proves the problem.) to the suits and ties who allow it and maybe even make money off of it. Cut demand and you'll spoil the supplies. What would your dad do? "Here son, go into your room and we'll bring you a shot of heroin every six hours". And tomorrow, and tomorrow... There is nothing more important to these user/zombies than their next fix. They'll let their own children die. We need to meet them and beat them at their own game whether they/we like it or not. This is not personal, it is business. A firm hand, forced detox, care, counseling. It's going to cost money but we let in this invasion and we will have to pay to nix it.

Be compassionate, but don't normalize living in homelessness.

I strongly support the removal of all camps in Parks, greenspaces and other public spaces. They are a health and safety risk to our community.

Being homeless is horrible, losing all your possessions in cleanups is even worse!!

Once we give an able-bodied homeless person a home, we should then give them a job to do! Without work, they will again become homeless. Build self-esteem and help repair the ruination of the Great Recession with a Work Projects Administration type approach that worked during the Depression!

I’m SICK OF SAWANT and her arrogant disrespect of the CITIZENS of Seattle who are ignored by her short-sighted and bigoted policies.

Maybe Sawant can take a few homeless into HER home to help fix the problem SHE is causing.
