Full-time school for Davis County students

This is not in the best interest of our children. Mounting evidence shows that it is detrimental for children to not be physically in school and yet some are letting politics, fear of the unknown and self interest rule this decision. Please let our children go back to school full time.

You're killing your teachers

Kids need to be back, associating with one another and learning in a school atmosphere with other kids! When are we going to realize the damage that has been done to kids by keeping them shut in!

I miss my friends and I miss school

Kids need to be back in school learning and participating in sports and all other healthy activities!

Kids need to go back for their mental health also, I’m a certified elementary teacher and know I am not qualified to teach my jr high son and can’t provide the special ed that my dyslexic elementary student needs. This is about so much more than me just getting my kids out of my hair, this is about getting my kids a proper education that they deserve and that I cannot provide for them.

This is a MUST our children deserve school!

Best thing for our kids is to be back to traditional school! Parents should have a say in what's best for their children.

I strongly agree that the children should be able to go.back to school full.time. Much damage has already been done to most of the children 's lives, theirI education, and their families. It's time.to stop letting the fear-mongering done by main-stream media rule and ruin our lives and listen to the real scientific studies that have been done. And it's time to stop letting the national Education Association with heavy handed unions and alterior motives rule.and ruin our children's future.

I feel blindsided by this reversal from the school district without giving parents an opportunity to respond. I ask the superintendent to re-evaluate their decision and pause and to listen to the community voices. We need choices for school like what many other school districts are doing.

Do your job and actually educate our children. Education is essential.

Please open schools this fall without masks and reduced classrooms. There is very little evidence that Covid will be a problem for students or teachers.

Let the parents and teachers with vulnerabilities determine what options are best for them, but don’t take away our right to full time school. The data is clear that much more harm is being done to our students by isolating them.

Having done my research on this topic and having been a teacher myself, there is more than ample evidence that we are damaging our children emotionally and socially not to have them in school full-time. I would be happy to supply anyone with accurate information on how critical this is to our children.

Yes send them back to school

Let's start listening to doctors and the real science and the real data. School is perfectly safe for kids and teachers. If you require teachers to do double the work to appease your fears then you better plan on paying them double as well.

Bring back 5 Days of school with increased safety measures and precautions.

My son withADHD requires structure and routine to be successful and doing something different every day is extremely difficult. I am also a single working mother and have no one to assist with homeschooling on the days The kids are supposed to be doing things at home. So what that means that my 7 year old gets to be his own teacher on those days or he has to wait until I am home from work at 6:30 to start school and then try and get 4hours of school in before his 9:00 bedtime....education at its best. These children have been set back and now they will fall behind the other kids in the state.

My Email to a district representative: I too am very concerned with the district’s approach: Not all parents will be able to stay at home.  This puts those who can least afford it in a real bind, potentially choosing their children over meaningful employment. The school will not be able to verify attendance or participation for the duration of the day when the child is distance learning. The grading process will be pushed to an NGO.  Per the Endeavor Parent Handbook (19-2) it states “When questions do arise, or whenever a progress report is desired, teachers are available to meet with parents to discuss individual concerns. Teachers are encouraged to make every effort to contact parents when concerns with a student’s academic and/or citizenship grade occur. Parents are also encouraged to make every effort to monitor their student’s education. Parents are responsible to check with teachers if they have questions on grades and/or behavior.”   As we discovered last spring, there is no recourse when the lesson plans are developed and graded by McGraw Hill. The multiple communication methods and the inability to see context on someone’s face will affect the teacher’s success.  For example, a teacher cannot easily discern distress when a child is struggling to understand the lesson.  Physical contact and social interaction is a basic part of child development.  There are many scientific articles that relate alcoholism, depression, deviant behavior and violence in social animals as a result of isolation.  I believe continued online learning will eventually prove their thesis for humans. This community and state tends to be an outlier when it comes to the socially correct indoctrination being pushed by radical elements of our society.  If a nationally standardized organization gains control over the national curriculum, I believe the radical element’s grip will only get stronger.  This is a non-starter for me and I owe it to my children to intervene.
