when my 11 year old heard that they changed the plans he was devastated. He wants to go back to school as normal schedule. I feel like kids need to go back to school full time; it's crucial for their development

The mental, physical, and overall well being is at higher risk for our children. These children should come priority over any government, political, or health of an adult. Yes, children are 100% more important than me.

I’m not sure what has changed in the past couple of weeks that would justify this change? Haven’t our numbers gone down? Are we acting out of fear? Davis County doesn’t historically respond this way!

Kids have been scientifically proven to not be the ones that are transmitting the virus. They do not pass it on to teachers and parents is what the science has shown. Let's have the science guide or decisions instead of fear. Your original plan of reopening as normal with extra precautions was a good plan. You caved to fear with the revision please go back.

Our children need the benefits of being in school. As a former classroom teacher with a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction who now works for a local university in the Teachers College, I support students returning to school full time with the option for online for those who choose.

Please let kids go back to school! It’s a safety net for so many. Child trafficking/grooming went up exponentially when we locked everything down. Kids NEED to resume normal activity. Their education will also suffer The last thing kids need is more screen time, even if it is for education. It’s not good for their brain.

The poll that DSD based their decision for a school schedule change was not representative of the majority, please consider this petition. As a professional for mental/behavioral health I strongly believe kids need to be in school.

Aithough this virus is real...the scientific fasts don’t support the fear mongering taking place. Our children will suffer more extensively from being deprived of their education!!
