Give parents and students a choice. Kids need to be in school!

I think we should have the freedom to choose to send our kids to school. They need to be in school learning and also socialize with friends for their mental health. If people have health risks in their families give them the option to do online school. For the rest of our children please let them go back to school full time.

kids need the social exposure and need to be back in school for their mental health. Working parents need the support of the cool system to give our kids a proper education. They are already behind the curve due to the poor planning and execution of remote learning in the spring.

The previous plan was sufficient, letting parents decide. If you’re comfortable, send the kids. If you’re not, keep them home. This new plan is based on fear and doesn’t take into consideration how this will affect our kids in their long term education. I’m not happy about our choice being taken away.

It is impossible for parents to work full time and home school even part time. I understand the worry about children being in school but they will learn 100% better in school versus at home.

The school’s job is to educate, not provide safety. I will determine what is safe or not safe for my children.

Send the kids back to school!! Why would Davis School District take such an overly conservative approach to this when school districts all around the state in way higher risk areas are going back 5 days and minimum 4 days a week!? Mental health, social development, kids being stuck at home 3 days a week with no parents because they both work is way more scary to me than Covid 19. Last week we had a choice to send our kids or take another path ie home school, online, etc. Today the choice was taken away. This can be done safely! The kids will wear masks. The teachers will wear masks. If the teachers are 6+ feet away at the front of a classroom they can take their mask off if they need to be more audible. Daily school provides the schedule, structure, and discipline that these kids want and need. They were all excited to go back and were ready to follow the rules to make sure everyone was safe and today the rug was pulled out from under them. Please rethink this and let’s do what’s best for the kids.

allow for people to choose. Online, hybrid or in person. I would like to choose. The original plan was good and accommodated for all people to choose.

Children have a right to go to public school. Parents also have a right to Keep their kids home if they choose. But kids have the right to go if they and their parents feel ok with it
