Kids need some consistency in their lives. So many of these kids have struggled these last few months with anxiety, depression, fear, stress, etc. It has been proven over and over again by certified medical professionals that 99% of kids aren’t getting sick and they aren’t transmitting the virus. Kids need to be back in school where they can learn, socialize, and have some normalcy back in their lives. A mild sickness for a few kids outweighs more severe consequences for many kids. There are too many who don’t have the support at home to stay caught up in their online studies. School for some kids has become a safe haven from abuse. We can’t shut down! We need to keep living and move forward, taking as much precautions as we can.

Schools need to reopen. Children need social interactions! These kids need some normalcy back. For some children school is their safe space, the only place they get a meal.. parents working full time can not have kids sitting at home all day with no supervision. Home school has always been an option, if people are uncomfortable then they have always had that choice. Some families do not have that choice.

Our kids need school. Healthy children belong in school. Stop living in fear. Stop saying it’s to keep them safe. They have a better chance of being hit by a school bus than dying from this virus. Enough already.

My kids and I didn’t enjoy the remote learning and other moms have the same feelings. If you want to do what’s best for the kids they need to go to school!!

The social, emotional and educational needs of the children need to be prioritized over the very small percent of teachers at risk of serious covid infection. The science does not support the need for children to stay home. The two day a week gig is chaotic and will be harder on the students, parents AND teachers. Many children will suffer neglect and trauma. Davis County is the only district to take such an extreme measures, yet our county has less cases than others. If u do not advocate for the well-being of our children you have no place in education. Let the kids go back to school!

I have a special needs autistic son who I have to get to his appointments about 30-40 hours a week and now I have to choose between my special needs child or my other 2 school age kids “remote learning” meanwhile they are still getting our tax money. Beyond frustrated!

We cannot let anymore time lapse in our children’s education!! We can’t allow them to miss out on the education that being in the school provides! No sound evidence that kids should not attend school in person!!!

Please! My son is going into kindergarten and has already been jipped from a Pre-K education and now his kindergarten education! How to they expect 2 full time working parents to come home from working a 10 hour day and then home school a kindergartner and a third grader! The only people they’re hurting are the kids by doing this!

Kids need to be back in school full time. They are not affected by covid, nor do they spread it! This plan is counterproductive for the safety and health of all those involved. The original plan was far better than this hurried decision.

Please reconsider the current proposal for the fall semester. Online schooling was less than effective and we have the advantage of knowing how that looks, having already done that. Our kids need instruction and structure :)
