I’m a working mother with 4 kids in 3 different schools. I cannot work and help my children at home in school. I really need them attending school in person. They need the social interaction, direct teacher help and less time staring at a computer screen.

I don’t know who will teach my children the three remote learning days. I work 40 + hours a week- There isn’t enough time for me to instruct them when I get home, before it’s time for bed. I can’t rely on a babysitter to be their teacher either. What are the suggestions in my situation? My children’s education will suffer as it already has from remote learning this past spring. I can’t work full time and teach almost full time too... no to mention I don’t have the education or training to do it. This is why we pay our teachers.

Let's go back to the original plan. Let those of us who want our kids in school 5 days a week have that option. Those parents who want online schooling for their kids to also have that option. That seemed like a win-win for everyone.

I work during the day and can't help my child during the day. I can't switch to nights because my job doesn't offer nights.

I am concerned at being a full time teacher with my two kids being at home alone

Why doesn't someone organize a time for all parents to got to the district offices and demand to speak with superintendent Newey? It seems as though there are plenty of parents that could overturn such a shocking decision.

We need to have kids in school every day! The online learning did not work well spring semester. It was a disaster. I will have to pull my kids and homeschool them but what about parents and kids who do not have that option and are left to be online for hours a day with minimal or no supervision. I am also a nurse who works at a local hospital and believe kids need this more than any risk involved which is extremely minimal.

The online schooling was a disaster last school year! The National Academy of Pediatricians has indicated it is in the best interest of children to return to school! Teachers should be considered essential workers and return to the classrooms. Please reconsider!! I have 13 grandchildren and they have great parents and they were all negatively impacted! Don’t let this be a political issue. This is a human issue ♥️

My son is a junior this year. Online learning this spring was so hard on him. He missed the social, being taught in a classroom, having a teacher that did more than out an assignment on Canvas. He was totally looking forward to going back to school for the first time ever this fall! I’m so disappointed they cancelled the plan. I don’t know what is so wrong with giving students and teachers the choice for online or person school. Online teachers can teach online classes and I person can teach in person!

I am signing this If my kids have to learn on there own they will not even with my standing over them nagging threatening grounding crying and begging. They need to be in full school them they can learn and I will not have to quit my job that i love.

Please put politics aside and your own self interest of using this “pandemic” for increase in UEA funding. Let’s put our kids first. There is no way, children and teens will receive proper education with distance learning while both parents are away at work. This is a recipe for disaster and destruction of the family unit.

My children need to be with their peers. Distance learning was such a strain on them emotionally and I believe they can be safe and healthy while at school.

Number of cases in our area is low. I work full time. Our kids 4 will be better educated at school 5 days a week. Consistent schedules and friends are important to their well being.
