Full-time school for Davis County students

School is the only place some kids get any food at all. Poor families and/or single parents rely on school to mostly feed their children.

As a teacher I feel strongly that our kids need to be in school. There are many negative impacts; financial strain from a parent having to stay home, not teaching everything kids are supposed to learn, no educational support at home in cases where parents HAVE to leave their children at home so they can work, lack of social engagement... the list is long and this is only a small portion of the issues. Plus, I miss my students! I’m ready to have a sense of “normalcy” back in my classroom.

PLEASE LET OUR KIDS GO BACK TO SCHOOL FULL TIME WITH NO MASKS!!

This district mandate makes no sense. How are teachers going to teach every day in the classroom (half the class in class and half at home) and online? Online learning was tough enough for everyone in the spring when ALL they did was online. Now they are supposed to do both at the same time? Schools had great plans and great attitudes about getting kids back. Leave it to the schools. Superintendent, BUTT OUT!

The rewards of being in school full time far outweigh the risks of CoVID. Our kids need the safety, security and consistency of a full time education. Please reconsider this new plan and let kids go to school full time!

Open the schools!!!!

Please let the children have a school experience!!! Those that don’t feel comfortable with full time have their own options. Please open full time!

Please consider allowing our children to return back to school. This has not been considered lightly and we feel is the best for the current condition. Thank you in advance for you support and consideration through all of this

Please give our kids a chance to get a decent education and have some semblance of normalcy in their lives again. Be safe, be healthy, stay home if you’re not feeling well, but get them back into a learning environment!!

There is an added burden on teachers too having to do online lesson plans and face to face too.

As an educated business owner, wife of an educated professional, and loving mother of 4 children (2 special needs) in 3 different schools with IEP’s and ~20 different teachers, I 100% support sending my children back to school full-time, and support those who are more comfortable doing online school if they feel that is the right choice for them. These petitioners are primarily informed and educated, not selfish radicals, and many fantastic points have been raised on this forum. The District is in an impossible position, but it is extremely unfortunate that their seemingly rash and unsolicited proclamation does not align with my understanding of what would be best for the children, their caretakers, and educators, according to the general consensus and research set forth by reputable sources. I hope the District’s motives are pure and free from agenda, as it appears that this may be a preemptive guard against their own potential liability....a CONFLICT OF INTEREST, rather than what is in the children’s and supporting communities’ BEST INTEREST.

I feel like my kids are falling behind. Socially, academically, and not maturing at the rate they should based on responsibilities and experiences given and available only at school. I’m quiet certain teachers are going to be spread way too thin, and one day a week in each class for 1 hour is not going to give them the education they need.
