Full Competition Pools for Harford County High School Swimmers

Please fix and approve the starting blocks for safety and fair competition for all our swimmers.

Documentation. Either open the pools, or show documentation why their closed. As a lifeguard we could call the health department and have them be there in an hour. It’s been months, there is no exuse.

I dealt with this last year and it was awful! Please fix these blocks!

This is not only unfair to the swimmers but extremely unsafe! This needs to be fixed before there is a preventable injury to a student athlete. It also puts the student athletes at a disadvantage when competing in states.

Fix the blocks.

My daughter, Hannah Silcox, is a senior and co-captain of the swim team at C. Milton Wright High School.

This is absurd and needs to be resolved immediately.

Times were significantly lower due to this last year, keeping many swimmers, relays and some teams from being eligible for state championships… just sad this hasn’t been resolved

Let’s get our equipment working and in use

This is my first year on the CMW swim team and I strongly believe that we should be allowed full use of the blocks during practice and meets. The first reason is due to safety i have gone off blocks my whole life and never experienced an injury to myself or to others, in fact I think diving of the side is far more dangerous than off the blocks. This has been shown when one of my teammates was diving off the side and slipped and near hit his head on the pool deck, something similar to this has happened to me when diving and the the mat slips. The second reason is this is close to a professional league and a part of USA Swimming, in USA swimming you do not dive off the side of the pool it is professional you dive off the blocks. That is why I strongly believe that blocks should be allowed in HCPS high school swim.

This is, quite frankly, an embarrassment and these student athletes deserve better swimming conditions.
