The Board of Education reversed the proposed cuts to our music programs and support staff positions today. Thank you for your commitment to preserving these vital resources for our students. We will continue to monitor the budget process to ensure these priorities remain protected in the future.
We the undersigned urge the Franklin Township BOE not to Fire the Support Staff and not to cut the Extra Curricular Activities at our schools. Our support staff (paraprofessional, custodians, bus drivers, and grounds personnel) provide us with Quality, Safety, and Services and their loss will have a negative impact on the safety and quality of education offered to our students. Our extra curricual activities - provide our teachers with Prep Time which is imperative for effective teaching in an every day classroom. These music and art programs bring out the best in our children besides the education inculcated in them each day, every day.
The momentum behind this petition highlights how much our community values the essential staff and programs that sustain our schools. This level of engagement confirms that the board must reconsider their current proposal to ensure our students receive the quality education they deserve.

If u cut the music program you are taking the soul out of the school. Stop looking at just the budget and look at the kids for once.

Teachers need that prep time. If you take that away they wont be able to teach well. Fix the budget some other way.

Totally unfair. These programs make school worth going to. Without music and art children lose their creativity.

The custodians and bus drivers are what keep this place running. Cutting them is a huge mistake and will make the schools way less safe.

My daughter loves art class so much. Please dont take this away from the kids. It is the only reason she actually enjoys showing up to school.

Leave the staff alone. They do so much work for so little pay and now this? Absolute disgrace.
