Don't create a police station blackhole
The Metropolitan Police has launched a consultation process on its draft MOPAC/MPS Estate Strategy 2013-2016 proposing to close or downgrade front desks at a large number of police stations in south London.
This will leave a 75 square mile area stretching from Battersea to Forest Hill and Sutton and Bromley uncovered during night-time hours. The Local Guardian and Newsshopper newspapers in south London are calling upon The Met Police to reconsider their plans to ensure there is a permanent base where residents can seek safety and report crime within this area.
To support the campaign please sign this petition, to be presented to deputy policing mayor Steve Greenhalgh on February 26 and visit http://www.smart-survey.co.uk/v.asp?i=67232epffs to comment on the official consultation
