I hope to see Thorin impaled on the lance of a half troll at the Battle of the Five Armies and with his last breath apologize to Bilbo..That would be an adequate compromise between the actual plot and Jackson's OTT CGI grand-standing.

Thorin has gone through enough turmoil and hardships to kill him off so he can't see his own kingdom he fought for restored is kind of dumb.

Don't kill Thorin in the movie. It is a tragedy if you do. He is not greedy more than any of us today. He has suffered long enough to get what is rightfully his and his people. KEN

While the love you have for the character is clearly great, this petition is not. This petition is nonsensical, useless, idiotic and disrespectful to Tolkien's work. The number of signees clearly indicates this.
MOREOVER, incompetent news outlets have somehow picked up on this incorrectly, and some have wrongly reported outright that Thorin won't die in the next film...
Please. Take it down.

Richard Armitage's fangirls truly need to get lives. All actors will have roles where they die and most of them like those roles the best, nothing like a good death scene to get your teeth into.

lets be real. not everyone loves thorin. you said there is a strong love from so many people, but i highly doubt that. i can't believe that you are actually asking him to change such an important part in the story. Thorin has to die, and everyone who has read tolkien should know that.
