We the undersigned support the designation of a Stampede State Recreation Area outside Healy, Alaska under Alaskan Senate Bill 60 and House Bill 113. A State Recreation Area is important to ensure continued traditional uses of the area, and will enable citizens to participate in the planning process. These lands provide critical wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The level of public interest in protecting this land has exceeded my initial expectations. This momentum confirms that preserving these recreational opportunities for our community remains a vital priority.

We need to make sure the wildlife has a place to go and that we can still use the trails. SB 60 is a no brainer.

Keep our land public. Healy needs this area protected for the future.
