Dear Judge Dennis,

With all due respect, sir, we the undersigned wish to express our disappointment in your decision to modify the bond restrictions for Sidney and Tammy Moorer.

While we can appreciate the fact that Sidney Moorer might want to find employment and feels he can’t in South Carolina, we recall that his brother gave him a firm offer of work when he was released on bond and Sidney Moorer declined the offer. An offer, by the way, that was in South Carolina.

We feel that this is a ploy by the accused murderers of Heather Elvis to enjoy a Disney Vacation in Florida, one which Tammy/Sidney posted about in May on Facebook. (please see attached photo) It’s an insult to our intelligence and it should be to yours as well. We view this as nothing more than a move by the Moorers to further taunt and inflict pain on Heather’s family. If the Moorers wish to visit Orlando for any reason, we feel it should be at the conclusion of the judicial process when their guilt or innocence has been determined by a jury of their peers.

In addition to the obvious risks we perceive of letting two people charged with murder leave the state, we feel that it is a slap in the face to the victim in this case, Heather Elvis, and that it callously causes her family more pain.

On a lesser but still valid point, we feel it’s unfair to taxpayers to allow two people accused of welfare, loan, and tax fraud to undertake expensive trips until those charges have been adjudicated as well.

We understand that this petition has no legal merit. While we respect your authority, your honor, the citizens of Horry County and beyond were compelled to express our opinion on your decision.
