They say want to bring Visiters to our area to bring more commerce to our county, then they need to fix our camp grounds and keep them well maintained!!!

There's already nothing much in our area for young ppl and older adults to do, why continue to keep closing places. That's one reason drugs is taking over our county. Leave it open and keep it maintained!

Cane Patch was a major part of my childhood. I don't want our community to lose a valuable recreation facility. Please restore this place back to the way it's supposed to be.

Let's keep these open, my family and I use to camp and swim here religiously. VA needs to stop giving all government money to the north and spend it here in the southern region.

So many people used this facility for recreation. Please don’t let this community asset fall into disrepair!

CanePatch, Bee Bottom and Phillips Creek will all have been closed if they close Cane Patch! Why? Why? Why? I think the Federal, State, and the local people gave money, grants, and work work, to the turn of about $400,000.00 to make Phillips Creek A reality! I know this because my mother, Belva BOLLING was instrumental, along with Lenowischo, in making this project happen. Leniwischo ,wrote the grant proposals to receive money of the Federal & State Gov’t. Mrs. BOLLING stayed on top of it with the state and federal officials she knew. That would be Linwood Holton, Rick Boucher, Orby Cantrell, Governor Charles Robb and his wife, Linda Johnson Robb! How can Wise County let this happen? They let Bee Bottom and Phillips Creek go under without any questions ask. Now, Wise County believes that tourism will help keep the county alive. We had three great spots that would have played into this hope that was destroyed without a question ask! Just like St. Paul, horse back riding and ATV’s would have been developed much easier if Pound already had Bee Bottom, Phillip’s Creek, and Cane Patch, already in existence. People in the Pound Area definitely need to sign this petition and members of the of Supervisors should be looking for ways to keep this open. Norton just extended the High Knob and Flag Rock Picnic and Camping area because of the demand. Covid changed the thinking of the American people. Instead of spending big money on vacations, they have decided that vacations with the family spent camping, fishing, and hiking are better and cheaper. So Debbie Hale has seen the writing on the wall and is trying to help the area and Pound out by stopping the closing of anything else that our taxes paid for back in the 70’s! This place is a huge part of my life. We’ve always used this area for camping and family get together. We don’t have a lot in the Pound area so please don’t take another important part away from the people.

If we can send billions to Ukraine and all over the world we can fix a local campground in America.
