This is an important airport that brings much business to the town $$$. I come multiple times a year for both business and recreation. I will not be there if there is no airport.

All public airports should remain open, just like all U.S. highways and Interstates!

Please Re open the Glenwood Springs Airport. It could play an important roll to support fire fighting operations like Storm King Mountain.

This airport contributes to the local economy, is part of a important nationwide network of general aviation airports, and must remain open for the benefit of Glenwood Springs, the State of Colorado, and our nation.

We use this airport for several vacation trips a year staying at local hotels, eating in local restaurants, and visiting the hot springs—not to mention bike and river trip rentals.

I have landed at GWS on three important occasions: mountain flight training, a fly-in I organized that brought business to the town, and to visit a friend there. What motive could you have for even temporarily closing such an important airport? Are there other motives than COVID-19 in operation here?

It is past time to open the Glenwood Springs airport. It is important for business and commercial flights, air ambulance flights, as well as personal flights. Pilots must maintain proficiency and cannot without flying periodically. Please open the field.

To loose this airport would be a terrible loss to the aviation community as well as the monetary loss to the business area.

General aviation also supports public health through activities like Angel Flight. And airports have a positive economic impact on the community.

Amazing power grab. Common sense may be in short supply, yet common sense may be the final chapter in overcoming viruses of today and tomorrow.. My experiences as a commercial, and instrument pilot, coupled with ATC career manning sectors of mountainous terrain in Colorado including GWS, EGE, ASE, GJT, MTJ, SBS, HDN, GUC, LXV, and service with Civil Air Patrol, suggests the inherent need for any and all eligible airport facilities, for any and every emergency. A fully operational GWS airport poses less threat to spreading a virus than contracting gonhorea while taking communion. History has proven many times that a thin line exists between survival and death. The day may come when the difference is GWS.
Give up the power grab, apply common sense, and reopen GWS for its intended purpose. It may be the miracle runway for an engine out emergency to or from Sardy field, or a doctor on a life saving mission for you or your family.

KGWS is a crucial part of the aviation infrastructure. Closing the airport poses a potential risk to general aviation pilots traversing inhospitable mountain terrain with few landing options available in the event of an emergency. This airport is an asset for the community and has driven my personal visits to the community from the front range yearly. It would constitute and economic loss to close the airport. Hoping we can find a way to keep it open.
