The GWS airport is a valuable economic connection to the rest of our country - we need local airports

The airport means so much to me and my family!

Airports are one of the most important connections in our country. Closing KGWS was a very discriminatory decision only done because it was easy to "enforce". With all the other gross "violations" of Distancing Orders I see that as a very poorly thought decision. Airports should never be closed. Thank you.

The fear is based on false science, which I believe is nothing more than media science for the purpose of causing hysteria to control people.

This is a shortsighted decision by the city. General Aviation is playing a larger role each day in the COVID-19 scare. They ought to use the airport to bring positive PR to their city instead of pushing their anti-general aviation agenda.

Close the airport because of COVID19? Give me a break... the city council should be ashamed and embarrassed by that decision... Reopen the airport!

This airport is a critical part of aviation infrastructure in the region and should be open.

I am a long time (38 year) single & multiengine pilot & flight instructor with an Airline Transport Pilot certificate. I have seen poor decisions at another Colorado airport (GJT) which affected general aviation in a very adverse manner. There is no way that closing a GA airport like this is going to increase COVID-19 cases in Glenwood Springs unless the airport is enlarged to accommodate multiple daily airbus 380 and Boeing 747 flights from China, Italy, and New York. Perhaps this is what the Glenwood Springs city council is anticipating!

We fly up at least once a year and do a 4-day weekend in Glenwood. The airport is a big reason for choosing Glenwood for our getaway. Please open it back up soon.

An airport is critical not only to allow emergency travel but to allow traveling while observing social distancing. To close the airport is the opposite of the support the community needs in this time.

Dear Sirs / Ma'am, I ask you to immediately reopen the Glenwood Springs airport. This airport is a valuable asset to the Glenwood Springs community. It provides economic well being to the surrounding communities and it provides emergency access to your communities in case of natural disasters in your area. In order to keep this asset viable, you must allow pilots to maintain their piloting skills. These skills are perishable and cannot be easily reconstituted if they are prevented from being exercised. If you are truly concerned about the safety of people due to the COVID virus, then be consistent and be concerned about the safety of the pilots and allow them to maintain their proficiency so that when needed, they will be there for you. Allow the pilots to follow safeguards established by the CDC so that they can practice their skills. Thank you.

The airport is very valuable to the State-wide aviation community network and especially to the City of Glenwood Springs. The temp. closure is a ruse by the politically connected developers. Follow the money...

Please reopen the airport, it should be considered essential for emergency and medical flights and to General Aviation for that flight corridor.
