I believe this closing will be found to be unconstitutional and a violation of FAA regulations since there are no extenuating circumstances.

Please acknowledge my sentiment that the Glenwood Springs Airport should be opened and stay open as a resource to the community as well all pilots who depend on the facility to maintain currency and use for their business. Thank you

I am concerned with the closure of the Glenwood Springs Airport due to the COVID pandemic. I believe this is a serious overreaction that endangers the flying public. Airport access is not a matter of convenience or mere recreation, but these public assets are critical elements of the national transportation infrastructure and their closure should not be taken lightly. My understanding is that GWS is one of only a handful of airports nationwide that are closed due to this issue. This demonstrates the unusual and extreme nature of the closure.

I am a pilot and have a home in Pagosa Springs, CO. The Glenwood Springs airport needs to be open and available to all General aviation aircraft as it has since it opened years ago. Airports are an asset to all communities and should not be jeopardized by local politics or uneducated people involved in local politics.

It feels ridiculous to close the Glenwood Springs airport to reduce the risk of COVID, given that I-70 runs straight through Glenwood with numerous gas stations and other stores that are open for business.

I support re-opening the Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport as soon as possible. The other 73 public-use airports in Colorado seem to get it; public-use airports support the community, both financially and in services. Get on board!

GWS is an important alternative to Aspen, and is a fantastic airport for me to use to visit family and the roaring fork valley. Please re-open ASAP and consider this airport critical infrastructure.

Let's keep this airport open so that emergency flights and important flights can take place. Also, all pilots need to stay proficient. Airports are a very important asset to the committee!

I'm based in Aspen, but have all my maintenance done by Aircraft Repair LLC at KGWS, so I fly there quite often. I was shocked when I got the email announcing the closure, and was fortunate to have a small weather window the next day so that I could fly my plane there for its annual inspection less than 48 hours before the airport closed! Otherwise I would have no longer been legal to fly my plane. I think the closure is totally ridiculous and irrational, as it's probably one of the safest places to be during this pandemic, regarding social distancing, especially with self-serve fuel. The airport is essential for SO many reasons, including firefighting, transporting medical supplies and having a place to land when ASE has bad weather. It's also a great place to launch alternative transportation when I-70 is closed in Glenwood Canyon (or points west) because of accidents, rock slides, avalanches and more, which happens quite frequently. Please re-open the airport immediately!

I am not a pilot but I know that airports can promote tourism and boost economy once businesses are open again. Please keep your airport open

This is not a time to be further reducing access to General Aviation for pilots and crews that need proficiency and recurring training. Airports like GWS have impact on their communities that goes well beyond the fuel sold and the ground rent collected. The current CDOT Aero Economic Impact Study indicates that GWS brings 202 jobs, $10.03 Million in Payroll, $18.34 Million in Value Added, and $36.67 Million in Business Revenues to the Glenwood Springs Area. Those are numbers that no community should disregard.
