I’d like them to open the airport so I can fly in on business!

The City Council is wrong and are opening the City to legal action for an unjustifiable closure. Stop the politically and financially motivated actions.

My son and his instructor flew out of the Glenwood Springs airport with me and his dad as passengers ♥️♥️ Precious memory!

Wow, "unbelievable", or is it?! The city has been trying to close that airport for decades and they seem to fabricate any reason or excuse to do so.... My experience at that airport is absolutely the most significant and memorable part of my flying career! I specifically moved to GWS to learn to fly, at that airport, back in 1998. The day I received my pilots license i was offered a job at the flight school (Glenwood Aviation) and moved in to the apartment/log cabin used for the flight school office. Everyday I breathed, ate, slept and lived airplanes! In the aviation community the GWS airport is famous, or at least it used to be. People from all over the state, not to mention the country, would fly in, or even drive, to the airport for the experience or just to say they'd been to that airport! If the city planners/officials, or whatever theyre called, would educate themselves on the importance of aviation and airports in regards to the economy, community, convenience etc they could really improve on the gem they already have!

The value of a town's airport is never fully appreciated until it is gone. The federal government has specifically found airports are critical transportation infrastructure that are not required to be closed and should be kept open during this pandemic. The increased risk of spreading coronavirus in Glenwood Spring by pilots arriving by air versus by car is nonexistent. There is no logical reason to keep the airport closed, and several good ones to keep it open (such as the mercy "angel" flights which have been distributing PPE to other mountain airports). Glenwood Springs airport should be reopened now.

To the powers that be involved in the closure: You are idiots, douchebags, low life bottom feeding scum.

I doubt the number of flights will/would have effected the spread of Covid 19. Nice try, but it’s time to open the airport!

Colorado airports are few and necessary. don't make a mistake that will never get corrected.

Currency, particularly in our local mountainous environment is critical to safety. This is a short-sighted closure with more negative ramifications than positives.

Keep the Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport open. It is an essential component of the local community. Lives depend upon its access and operations.

During the meeting, one of the city officials said the airport was in a dilapidated condition. Yea, because the city will not let anyone make any improvements! They only want to take the property because they can make more money by building hoses and collecting the taxes. As always, follow the money. Keep the airport open!
