Please get the Glenwood Springs Airport (KGWS) open and KEEP IT OPEN! I regularly fly into this airport to go to the pool, purchase meals and stay overnight in the local hotels. I am also a Mountain Flying Flight Instructor and regularly train pilots into and out of this unique airport, always purchasing airplane fuel at the self service pumps. Glenwood Springs would also enjoy more economic benefit by positioning 3 old police vehicles at the airport for courtesy cars. You would be AMAZED at the upturn in fly-in destination traffic by a little support and maintenance at this Rocky Mountain JEWEL of an Airport. Respectfully, Jer/ Eberhard

Airports provide a value to a municipality that is unique, attractive to businesses and effective. Eagle is 27 miles away but for companies that utilize aviation as part of their transportation dept looking to move to your community that's too far a trip. Also the local aviation community of general aviation pilots will be adversely affected as well. I have served on many boards that have considered to close their local airport and every one that decided to do so ultimately regretted their decision. Don't think outside the box.... Just Think!!!

Every year we fly in to Glenwood, have a nice lunch, sometimes dinner and fly home loaded with souvenirs. If you’re at all interested in local commerce, closing this airport would be I’ll advised.

One of a very small number of safe spots in a mountain crossing should not go away. Please reopen the airport ASAP.

Thinly veiled and transparent attempt to pull a Meigs field type closure. If the Glenwood City Council keeps it closed they should repay all federal funds

Do not close the Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport, it is a vital component to the city’s economic portfolio and part of what makes Glenwood Springs special in the state, the country and the world.

This closure appears to be nothing more than a thinly veiled political move by the current mayor and town council. The airport has many positive influences on the town and surrounding area, and should be reopened immediately.

The connection between COVID 19 and an airport is pretty thin to non existant. It might dawn on someone [ a politician] that a medevac flight may save someones life. Also, there are other essential flights that may have importance to the community. Medical personnel for instance. It would seem that there may be a ulterior motive in this closier !

The FAA will surely be notified about the situation, because of the COVID-19 supplies that are flown in weekly, emergency groups that fly in to fight the many fires in and around the area, etc.
