Friends Against Closure of Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport

We need to keep general aviation alive at ALL airports… it's the education path to pilots who serve our country as well as commercial pilots for the entire world to get to where they need to be.

Please open KGWS.

Do not close this airport.

My wife and I love the Glenwood Springs are for its beautiful scenery and all the fun things that can be done there. Unfortunately Glenwood Springs is too far to drive to for a short weekend trip from Denver. Flying, on the other hand, is a totally different, thanks to the airport. Please keep it open so we can continue enjoying the Glenwood Springs area.

Closing the Glenwood Springs airport is the wrong thing to do. This airport provides a uniquely safe place to land in that part of the Rockies as well as an extremely important training opportunity. Closing the airport increases risk for pilots and their passengers and limits the very important ability to practice and hone their skills in safe mountain flight. Closing the airport also increases risk to residents in the local community. Eliminating the ability to safely and quickly airlift people and supplies in and/or out of the area during emergencies is extremely short sighted.

This airport is important to keep open as part of the national network and for commerce in Glenwood Springs present and future.

Please reopen and save this vital airport for the benefit of the community and the residents of Colorado!

If medical supplies were needed in Glenwood on an emergency basis having an airport for pilots to bring in stuff is imperative. Please open the airport.

Glenwood Springs Airport is a critical part of the safety support infrastructure in central Rocky Mountain region. The extended closure of Glenwood Springs Airport significantly impairs the ability of first responders and medical personnel to provide a minimum of life saving resources for residents and travelers of the region. Theses include EMS, patient transport, search and rescue and wildfire mitigation and suppression.

Please reconsider your attitude toward the Glenwood Springs airport! I have been there a number of times, my wife and I love GSprings, and airports are a great way to travel and see our great state. You have a very neat town, with some unique assets, so please help keep it a little more accessible by keeping your airport supported! Thank you!

Open KGWS Airport NOW. There are no excuses for the City Council to do otherwise.

The Glenwood Springs airport is a jewel among small Colorado airports. It should instill great pride in the community to have this fine airport. I look forward to it opening in the very near future.

Let people spend money in Glenwood instead of Aspen.

Not familiar with the airport but don’t think any airport should be closed. Flight proficiency should be a priority.

We need to allow this country to get back to normal. Glenwood needs this airport and the pilots need to fly. Keeping it closed at this point (if i ever really needed to be closed) is counter productive.

Stop destroying history.

I have flown in there and visited your town. I will NEVER drive there because it is too far.
