It does seem a bit silly not being entitled to free prescriptions. I understand that a transplant is expensive so this can be used as a form of recovering the cost, but I have always worked and paid national insurance. I live on my earnings and don't have the funds to cover this cost, yet I have sufficient earnings to be told I am not on a low income and thus have to pay. Surely this needs to change.

I have passed 10 years post transplant and have always thought this issue is unfair on all of us who HAVE to take this medication to stay alive.

I have had a heart transplant when I was 6 years old, now that I have just finished school, I can't get free prescription which are essential for keeping me well. I can't even find a proper paid job as I am under 21. It's really worrying. Thanks for setting up this petition and good luck to us all

Don't take the medication and it affects your life status how much more of a life preserving criteria do you need!!!

People with any kind of transplant should not have to pay for the drugs that keep them alive. Transplants are a miracle and the nhs should back the miracles of life.
