These crossings must be addressed closed or bridged spending so much on this regeneration and leaving the current chaos would be total madness. grasp and go ahead asap.

Absolutely the only option to consider. This is brilliant. BUT keep a public walkway along by the northside of canal - don't close it off completely to the public.

Absolutely essential, but the northern bank of the canal basin should remain visible for all to enjoy whilst passing, whether on foot or by road, rather than being lost by enclosure.

it would be a scandal if the council are allowed to do what has been propossed,the people who make these decisions dont live in the area therefore will never get stuck in the traffic that will continue to clog up that part of chichester,they should be ashamed of themselves for even proposing this plan

As long time residents of Chichester we are aware of huge problems now caused by much increased traffic. The two railway gates should be replaced by the bridge. To ignore this solution now would be regrettable.A golden opportunity exists to remedy this congested blackspot once and for all..

I live on the canal basin and I have great concerns regarding driving in and out of our properties, as I believe the main road will be continually congested.
