Freedom of Expression in the workplace

My goal is to provide the best veterinary care possible at a price my Clients can afford. I don’t think my Clients care about our appearances unless we are unkempt. What they do care about is how good we are at our jobs.

Hair color, piercings, tattoos are a form or expression on YOUR body. Your appearance is not your work ethic!

Your worth ethics are not determined based upon the color of your hair or the amount of piercing and tattoos you have!

I’m a huge believer in freedom of expression! The color of your hair poses zero harm to anyone

I have been a professional office setting for nearly 25 years, Half of which I have had brightly colored hair. Even as a manager, with bright colored hair. Never once has my hair color, whether blonde, brown, red, blue or pink affect the job tasks at hand.

Erratic hair color is starting to become more and more acceptable in the work place because it’s expressing individualism. If dogs and my vets can come in with color fur and color hair, so should I. Nothing to do with my work ethic nor my ability to do my job well.

Let individuals be individual.

It doesn't matter what color a person's hair is, or how many tattoos or piercings they have, what matters is that they can do their job.

I am all for this, I am skin tired of being told to take out my piercing or hide my hair or remove my color. Maybe I feel prettier with periwinkle or blue hair. I've always been a hard worker no matter my hair color or piercings, it doesn't change me on the inside, my professionalism or work ethic.

I would recommend sending a petition and a load to HR. Saying that it feels like discrimination and goal-post moving and that outs a slippery slope to the deciding one day that you can't have tattoos, etc

It’s ridiculous that we should only allow natural hair colors in these places

Colored hair, piercings, and tattoos are simply an expression of one's self. They do not effect a person's professionalism. Not to mention, I rarely hear customers and clients disapproving of such things. Some of the most professional people I know are covered in tattoos and piercings.

The color of your hair has nothing to do with you as an employee. There is so many other things company’s need to worry about.

Pick your battles! An employees hair color is a worry that makes u look petty as a boss. Be the company that embraces uniqueness

I feel that freedom to express ones self is a right

As a hairstylist I defineitly can see the effect coloring your hair has on a persons mood. It is a way to express yourself and relieve stress. It is not fair to be told by an employer you are not allowed to change your color to an "unnatural" color

There's a lot more pressing issues at hand. Let these beautiful people be who they want to be!
