Parsippany NJ resident Mr. Shen Quan is trying to win the release of his daughter-in-law from a Chinese prison for adhering to the spiritual belief of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) and its principles of truth, compassion and forbearance. We call on elected officials representing Mr. Shen's district to exercise the prestige and power of their positions to influence the Chinese government to free his daughter-in-law, Ms. Luo Fang. Ms. Luo, a Falun Gong practitioner, has been jailed by Chinese authorities since Dec 2002. She was eight months pregnant at the time of her arrest and was forced by the authorities to have an abortion. During her detention, she was also reportedly injected with nerve-damaging drugs, which paralyzed her legs. Her husband -- Mr. Shen's son -- and fellow Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Shen Lizhi, was murdered in captivity by Chinese authorities in Mar 2002. His family was not notified of his death until a year later in Mar 2003. Currently, Ms. Luo is held at Chuanxi Prison in the province of Sichuan. She is documented as Case #234 in the UN report 'Economic and Social Council of United Nations, E/CN.4/2005/62/Add.1, 20 March 2005'. Her husband is documented as Case #80 in 'Economic and Social Council of United Nations E/CN.4/2005/7/Add.1, 17 March 2005'.

Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners (www.globalrescue.net) 2009 marks the 10th anniversary of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Over the past 10 years, Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners (GMR) has documented 90,698 persecution cases, including 5,565 cases of Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to death (with 3,264 cases confirmed by Falun Dafa Information Center). The crackdown on Falun Gong in the People’s Republic of China has led to the unjust imprisonment of thousands of innocent practitioners, has subjected them to severe forms of mental and physical abuse, and has caused their families and loved ones countless hours of emotional agony. In the wake of this savagery, many American families have lost their loved ones or still have their family members persecuted in China today. GMR, an international non-profit human rights organization established in November 2002 by constituent groups from sixteen countries, is assisting Falun Gong practitioners around the world to rescue their family members who are being illegally held in Chinese prisons, detention centers and forced labor camps.
