Please reconsider, leave the courtyard with natural surroundings and grass.

Many of my favorite memories from my time as a student at TWHS took place in the courtyard enjoying the sunshine

The nature in the courtyard mattered to my well being as a student at TWHS, and I think it still does. Please reconsider. There are even memorials that would be destroyed there.

As a Class of 2008 Highlander, I am extremely disappointed to hear about this. Some of my best memories were eating lunch out there or gathering with friends in the courtyard between classes. Turf is extremely hot and completely contradicts what you are saying about making it more usable. I’m so tired of who ever is making these decisions, completely disregarding community input.

Having a break from the stuffy indoors was needed and allowed almost every classroom to have a window which is rare. Keep the courtyard!

As Twhs alumn, it saddens me that the school would downgrade the campus like this. The courtyard truly makes the school so unique and gives the students a sense of escape!

I remember using the courtyard as a student. It's an amazing place to get some fresh air during a school day.

The courtyard is an amazing and unique space used by many teachers and students. I love having nature so close to classrooms and would hate to see it go.

Hello! I’m from the class of 2016. This courtyard has made so many formidable and lasting memories with myself and the friends I still talk to everyday. The hills and natural scenery led to a feeling of an oasis in the middle of the school. I understand adjusting for maintenance & safety, but surely there can be ways to maintain and preserve the space for others to continue to enjoy.

Getting rid of this courtyard would be a travesty to the many people who frequent it. Not only is it the fastest way to get to classes, it’s sometimes a student’s only chance to see the sun in a full day. This is a sad choice to see coming from an institution that claims to value the livelihood of their children.
Please reconsider, leave the courtyard with natural surroundings and grass.

We need to keep nature in our schools!
This is ridiculous! Let it grow!
