The petition just surpassed one thousand signatures. This level of participation demonstrates a collective commitment to preserving our courtyard trees. We are preparing to present these names to the administration to advocate for a more thoughtful landscape plan.

Graduating class of 2011, this courtyard was a cornerstone of my high school experience outside of the classroom. It would be a shame and a great loss to past and future students if it were to be altered in such a dramatic way. Let the courtyard stand.
I am a TWHS alumni & majority of my lunches were in the court yard. Especially the kids who feel social anxiety of sitting in a loud cafeteria not sure where or who to sit with. The court yard was the safe space. So many fond memories took place there. Please for the future generations don’t take it away.
Class of ‘04. I ate most lunches in the courtyard and could not image the building remaining without it with its natural trees and landscape intact. Please include the students and faculty in the decision making.
Turf has a high risk of flooding, it gets extremely hot in the sun, and can track turf beads throughout the school, making the custodial staff’s job even more difficult. In addition, turf could destroy what little biodiversity is in the existing courtyard, including flowers, bees, butterflies, and birds.
Green spaces have been proven to be critical for our physical and mental well being. I find it most disturbing that those with responsibility for our young people’s health would put them at risk in this way.

As a TWHS alum and mom of future students at TWHS this is very important to me. The courtyard was an escape for us and a way to connect with nature in the middle of a tedious day. I want my kids to have what I had. Don’t ruin the courtyard.
