We had similar problem - supplier wrote MILK OOLONG instead of TEA and we were charged huge duty for a milk product into UK. The Customs know nothing and have the final say despite their ignorance.

The destruction of perfectly legal goods, due to a very small clerical error is unjust, and would bring the administration of justice into disrepute. How can people trust the legal system if it doles out, not justice, but blind direction without considering the context in which laws are meant to be followed. This is clearly just a small, simple error, and not some nefarious plot. For the authority reading this, please use common sense and just custodianship of the laws of the UK, and don't destroy the public's trust in the legal system by seizing and disposing of legal goods.

As I recall, the last time you Brits got all officious and heavy-handed over tea, it didn't end too well for you, or the tea.

No logical sense in destroying tea. Tea was labeled on 2 documents so this should not be an issue.

'Release The Tea' and get on with it. Its not like they are a new importer and or like things were way off. Here it is for U-- 'AND TEA'! Wow, people make innocent errors; which should go without saying that this is what this is.

I’m a big fan of tea and even though I can’t realy afford the teas on this website often they are all great and to destroy a tea people put effort and harvest into would be a complete waste

We should all care when governments get this absurd. It's just not worth our time or our tax dollars. This tea might be worth caring about, hell, I hope it is. I also hope I get to taste it someday...

I am a card-carrying member of Social Justice Warriors (#SJW) International. This authoritarian action (by your PUNY post-imperialist police state bureaucratic apparatus) to detain and eliminate the "illegal immigrant" (tea) in question is a strident violation of the core principles of SJW International. We DEMAND that this tea be "set free", and if this appeal is not FULLY reversed please be aware that a MASSIVE shipping boycott will be launched (via the internet) in which all shipments ANY items which we deem to be : racist, sexist, homophobic, trans-phobic, vegan-phobic (and various other phobias) to put a spotlight on this REPUGNANT action taken by the UK government - a campaign which will make the "Boston Tea Party" look like a dinner cruise.
