As members of the world wide tree climbing community, including arborists, tree workers, and other rope access disciplines, we are hereby giving notice to Weaver Leather LLC, and their parent company Capital Partners, that we will not allow our hard earned money to be used to stop industry innovation.

We are calling for a complete and immediate boycott of ALL Weaver products. This boycott is a direct response to the legal action that Weaver is taking to obstruct the production and sale of The Self Advancing Knee Ascender (S.A.K.A.) by Richard Mumford.

While we recognize the right of any company or individual to be compensated for patents and innovation, we believe that this kind of bullying against a small business is bad for the future of the industry that Weaver would like to be a part of.

Forming a monopoly on a specific kind of tool removes choices from the people who depend on those tools for their livelihood and safety, and as the customers that provide your income we will not allow our purchasing power to be used against the industry and community that we love.

This petition will be delivered to the executives of Weaver Leather LLC, and Capital Partners. We encourage them to negotiate a way by licensing or other means to be compensated for the patents they own without stopping future innovations.

Any response will be made public to allow individual signers of this petition the opportunity to judge for themselves if the boycott should be lifted.

We are sneaking up on that five hundred mark and honestly if we can just get a few more folks to pass the link around we will have a real mountain of names to drop on their desks. It feels like the momentum is finally building against this nonsense but we have to keep the pressure high because they probably think we will just give up eventually.

I honestly did not think this would gain this much steam so fast but the sheer amount of people reaching out with stories about their own gear setups is just wild. It feels like we are finally pushing back against the corporate stuff and honestly it is kind of overwhelming to see so many of you standing together on this.

Complete opposite of what we want in this industries. We want to encourage people to continue to evolve our trade and share it. Now people will be keeping their inventions to themselves. Which means everyone looses out

I believe that the more variety we have and competition, the better our safety and innovation will be in this overlooked area. You will lose me As a customer permanently going the direction you are going. Presently have three weaver saddles and are in need of new ones. I can always buy somewhere else.

I bought a HAAS. I then bought a SAKA. At this stage I wouldn't be in any hurry to support an weaver products following this. I also oversee purchasing for the company I work for here in NSW Australia. Allow the Patent applications to continue, and due process to happen. Do not suffocate innovation in this industry. Thankyou. Tim

I demand the product remains. We risk life and death every day in the Arborist field. Imagine how many times this has let a Arborist go home and see his family. We dedicate years to field testing products. We stay with what we know and what we trust our life to. Once again, I demand this product stay available.

In the arborist community there is a vast amount of different climbing methods and gear to supplement those methods. In no way should a company hinder another from trying to develop and supply a product that could very well make somebody’s job a little safer and more efficient.

I will boycott weaver until they stop trying to bring the "little guy" down. I have 2 climbers on my crew and when I replace their gear I like to know it will last. Not only is the SAKA a tool that they enjoy using, it has held up better than the Haas system did. My climbers found them to be easier to use as well.
