In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful!
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
Dar al-Taqwa has recently been going through some turmoil which is making things very difficult on the community. After five out of seven trustees resigned, the remaining two members cannot select three new members to join them as this is a direct violation of the bylaws (sections IV-2.3, 2.6, 4, and 6.3).
We, the community, demand that these two brothers, the three brothers that they unilaterally assigned and claimed to be on the Board of Trustees (most of whom are from outside of the community), and former members of the Board of Directors, cease from attempting to take over the Dar al-Taqwa bank accounts from the Board of Directors. Their actions have caused the funds of the masjid to be frozen, hindering day to day operations, and making it difficult for Dar al-Taqwa to pay bills and even the payroll.
In addition, we demand that these brothers stop their calling for a contentious election and overthrow of the current Board of Directors. This is not in accordance with Dar al-Taqwa bylaws.
We, the undersigned, oppose any and all attempts to interfere with the day to day operations of Dar al-Taqwa - including any attempts to overthrow the board by calling for elections in a process that does not follow Dar al-Taqwa protocol, or seizing the Dar al-Taqwa bank accounts by removing the current signatories from the Board of Directors and adding others.
Sincerely,
The level of participation seen over the last few days confirms that our community remains deeply committed to the stability of Dar al-Taqwa. This growing consensus provides a clear path forward as we continue to insist on adherence to our established bylaws.

Ridiculous that the bills arent getting paid because of a few people. Stop the nonsense and let the board do their jobs.

This is just sad. Let the masjid run the way it should instead of playing these games with our money.
