This is a petition to Stanground Academy to try and get our benches back, they have banned us from sitting down to eat our lunch and we believe it is our right to be able to sit and eat our lunches, please sign this and support us :)

The petition has reached two hundred and fifty signatures. This level of interest indicates that a significant portion of our community feels the current seating policy is unreasonable.

The response to this initiative has been remarkable and exceeds my initial expectations. This level of engagement confirms that access to seating during lunch is a priority for the entire student body.

How do you expect a child to eat a balanced diet stood holing their coat, bag etc. Who makes these rules? Teachers, sat on chairs in their staff room eating and drinking with cups on plates rested on a table I assume.

Our children have the right to sit down in a comfortable place to eat. This is not the correct punishment for litter being left on the ground, students should be encouraged to pick it up. It is not all students that are doing this, so why should they all be punished.

This is disgusting, expecting everyone to either sit in the exceedingly small canteen or sit on one playgrounds pavement, what about people with back problems? Also, people dropping litter isn't a collective decision and we can also drop litter on the pavement instead of the grass so this decision is ridiculous

Disgusting behaviour from those who are meant to be looked up to. Instead of treating our children like animals, the teachers should be doing their job and teach and educate not to drop litter. Taking the benches will not stop the litter issue.

Honestly, this a disgrace. Taking away benches that pupils can sit on doesn't fix the litter problem. They should investing in putting more bins around the school to encourage pupils to put their own litter in the bins. Where are pupils meant to sit meant to sit if there isn't enough seats for every single pupil. This is wrong.

benches shouldn't be a reward, for not littering benches are a priority to enable the children to eat there dinner in a comfortable environment every child should have a right to eat their lunch at a bench and not on the unhygienic floor as a teacher would you sit on the floor and have your lunch??
