In a state of disbelief at BCDC’s actions. There needs to be more than words of apology, but real action to make things right!

100% behind this. The word backcountry belongs to everyone not a company just like the actual backcountry.

This petition perfectly states my opinion on this matter. I will remain in full support of the boycott without amends from BCDC.

As a lover of the *real* backcountry and a small-business owner, I'm sad to learn that in the past I've supported a company that bullies small business owners and thinks it has a right to the backcountry that we all share.

This petition falls woefully short. But will sign after saying this: We need more than a “Mea Culpa” by CEO Nielsen and vague promises to make amends. We need “RESTORATIVE JUSTICE”. Calling for the demise and collapse of BCDC along with the ruin of the executives, is not the correct answer, no matter how passionate we feel in wanting to wipe BCDC out of existence; this is not the right thing to do. It is not the spirit of those who we are as outdoor adventurers; and backcountry enthusiasts. We help each other out in moments of need even when the people we are helping did real stupid things, harmful things, and even deadly things in the outdoor and backcountry. We must do better, we need to stand on that high-moral-ground by including the leadership of BCDC, the victims of the trademark litigation, and the entire backcountry enthusiast community at large including all of the business community, in the resolutions, punishment, and healing process. The end goal is not merely to be punitive with BCDC as the wrongdoer, but remedies the harm caused by the wrongs of BCDC, prevents future harm, and reintegrates BCDC into the very community it violated (the businesses it attacked, to the customers it let down, to its’ employees, to its’ investors, to the small businesses that are run roughshod over daily by BCDC, to the those who had to stand up and protect the backcountry for proper access and ethical use, to all of us). Peace, DR

Defending your name and efforts is commendable, bullying or allowing someone adjacent to you to bully is a jerk move and your getting called out. Fix it or suffer the rejection of the community.

As a long time offroad, camping, and motorcycling enthusiast I stand arm-in-arm with the people impacted from the bullying perpetrated by Backcountry DOT com.

This company needs to remove ALL its executives that has any association with its bullying attitude and start fresh. BTW, that apology is a total BS.

Definitely make amends with the business owners you've unnecessarily hurt with your ill-advised lawsuits. These are small mom-and-pop operations that are no threat to you, and that you knew full well would not have the resources to fight you. That is NOT in the spirit of the backcountry community, and in fact, it's a symptom of what ails corporate America in general. Greed... profit at all costs. You don't want to be that guy.

For me this boycott extends to Motorsports and Steepandcheap too. Make amends please, I was once a loyal customer to all three websites.
