How can you try to copyright a term or word that predates your business? Behaving as if you’re some small company that made good, instead of one that has been bought out by a large and faceless corporation with little to no shared ideals or roots, is just a PR spin and a gormless attempt to placate an angry industry. Too little, too late. Time to rebrand, I think your name has been sullied to the point of no return.

Backcountry.com, I’ve been proud for so many years to purchase so much of my gear from a good, reputable, local Utah company that has wonderful employees, great customer service and has done well in promoting the spirit of getting out and enjoying the “backcountry.” Every time I walk into the store in West Valley City, I’m always happy with the service. You have good people that work for you! But TSG has corrupted that by attacking small businesses and entrepreneurs. Backcountry shouldn’t be owned by any business! And until you fix this and make reparations to all those who’ve trampled in this warpath, I’ll be boycotting and encouraging everyone I know to boycott all 66 of the companies owned by TSG listed on TSG consumer.com. I pray you’ll make things right quickly!

Nobody owns “backcountry!” Please stop harassing hard working passionate entrepreneurs! The fact that this is even a legal battle is unamerican. This is supposed to be a land of opportunity and your corporate lawyers are trying to crush these folks and it’s nonsense! They pose no threat to you! Just think if you didn’t have the silly trademark you wouldn’t have to pay exorbitant amounts of money to defend it.
