Unthinkable actions from a corporate giant in a time when small business is already struggling in America.

Thanks to everyone in this group for your efforts and comments. If vendors want to get involved, perhaps they could contact bc.com to say they won't ship orders until bc.com steps away from their attempt to own the word "backcountry", ceases further legal action, and reimburses those businesses affected for the money spent on legal fees and lost revenue.

Today, we are done being bullied by injustices...so many people and companies are honorable. Not Backcountry.com, not ever more.

Backcountry should not be a trademark term. Open source it for all to use!

Fourth generation Colorado Native and fourth generation back country enthusiast. You don't 'own' the backcountry. We all do. Don't be a bully. Nobody likes a bully.

Protect the actual backcountry, not the term.

Please stop persecuting small companies. Backcountry is a term open to everyone.

I concur with what has been laid out within this petition. I would add, though, that you reimburse any and all fees both legal and that which you forced upon each of the many small businesses that you have gone after for the use of a word (not a .com)... A letter is a written statement from a computer (who knows if you even wrote it) whereas a public press conference, face to face apology... expressing how the founders of your company would not have stood for this sort of greed and bullying and that it is you and your company's sole goal to win back the very community that put you in the position of wealth and success that you are currently in.

It's all been said. BC.com did not invent but rather stole the term "backcountry" with two hands from the very community who supports them with their business. I have previously been a top reviewer for BC.com and was rewarded with perks and gifts from BC.com. I was later selected to be a special reviewer where brands would send me free gear in exchange for reviews on BC.com. I have been loyal and supportive for years. I would rather spend my money elsewhere than support them now.

Make complete amends with all the small companies you tried to ruin! You do NOT own the backcountry so stop posing.

I am thoroughly disappointed in your bullying tactics. You may not be the first or last corporation so make unethical decisions like this, but bringing this behavior out is what needs to happen so we can prevent the bullying and loss of money from other small businesses.
