I'm glad you're coming around. Time to remove the trademark and put "backcountry" in the wild of the public domain.

This type of corporate bullying is unacceptable. I will not use this company in the future.

Backcountry.com has the chance to be the biggest and best. I have no problem with protecting your web domain but not the entire Backcountry. Many small companies have been hurt, It would be nice to affirm your apology with all expenses paid to help rebrand those you scorned, if they want to at this point. Offer to help them market their product in a mentorship type of program. This has started a very important thing about supporting your local small shps. Maybe you could help supply them since packages can ship across the USA overnitght if need be. Maybe you can offer a sweet deal to many to be a catalog type of center and offer it to them at a price near wholesale and help you both grow. Everyone makes mistakes, lets look forward and make the Backcountry the best we collectively can.

Please stop this inexcusable bullying. It’s not just Marquette. Please demonstrate respect for the values of your (former?) customers.

No more bullying small companies and mom and pop shops! I don’t have a lot of money, but I spend a ton of it on gear and I refuse to spend my money where bullying occurs.

I've spent thousands of dollars at Backcountry over the years - and also personally know a small business owner affected by these malicious legal threats. I side with the community!

As a customer of many years, I can only hope you will think beyond your pride and expansion to the customer service reps who hourly bear the brunt of backlash created by your actions and policies. This is not going away. We will not forget. And our goodwill is all that restrains a righteous fury. Others have paid for your mistakes; it is past time for you to offer more than a spin-doctoring, half-hearted gesture that amounts to nothing but lip service to the appearance of contrition.

Jonathan, Fix what you have broken. Make amends to the small businesses in our mountain communities, both financially and in a community sense.

This is beyond silly. If vendors want to get involved, they could tell bcdc that they won't get product shipped until bcdc releases the trademark on the word "backcountry", ceases all current legal action, and reimburses the businesses affected for their legal fees and lost revenue.

The word/term backcountry means a lot of things to many people, for some it's a place, others the start of an adventure, for everyone but you it is not a company. Please do the right thing backcountry.com and free backcountry!

"Making amends" has to include full financial reparations for the legal costs they incurred due to your reprehensible behavior.
