Backcountry is a term! Not a name!

The original owners should have kept it.

The word/discriptor 'Backcountry' is owned by all. Commonly stated as 'out backcountry' where Im from. If you want soul rights to a word/discriptor then invent it.

I'll always support small business before large firms owned by venture capital firms.

The Backcountry is for everyone.

Until this happens, you have lost the business of myself, and my family forever. By not freeing Backcountry, it shows that you do not truly understand this community.

I believe the the shareholders should replace the entire Executive team and all its board members, as well as the in house legal counsel. This was a deliberate and willful act to destroy businesses in our backcountry community. All effected businesses should be compensated for the actions taken against them. An apology is not enough. Actions as described above is the minimum that should be done to restore our faith. I certainly won’t be a returning customer.

"Backcountry" is a generic term and there is no confusion between an entity using this term in their name and an online resller. Just as their is no confusion between Amazon and Amazon Basin or Patagonia and Patagonia region of S. America. I will refuse to support Backcountry.com or any of the brands sold on Backcountry.com and owner by TSG Consumer until Backcountry.com makes amends (legal compensation) to all the small companies it sued. I support this petition.

I will never buy from backcountry.com again until the give restitution to the businesses they inflicted this upon.

I was looking at some gear on backcountry.com and with the news about the legal action that you've threatened against small companies and organizations I have decided to absolutely not buy any gear from your website. Dropping all lawsuits and the trademark, and reimbursing the legal fees of all the companies that you've attacked is just the starting point. Maybe then we can consider ever buying from your website.

Backcountry should be public domain!!! Backcountry.com should never have been able to trademark the word not should they had the audacity to go after people's businesses for using a word not thier logo but a word describing of a type of location.

Free the backcountry

I want to know how many hundreds of lawsuits were filed that we are not aware of. Make those little guys whole and you might be able to rebuild. You are experiencing what happens if you don't.

Backcountry is a general term used to describe a remote region of the outdoors and should not be restricted for use by only one entity. Restitution should be paid to each and every company and individual harmed by lawsuits and/or the threats of lawsuits by Backcountry.com. Even if these companies have been rebranded, they should be compensated for the expenses incurred, including the loss of business during the process.
