Please do the right thing here. We have bigger issues and battles looming with climate change and commercialization of wilderness. You could do much to become a leader by admitting mistakes and making reparations. People that truly love the backcountry should be embracing each other and fighting for its survival not squabbling over who owns a freaking name that should never have been owned!

It will take a lot to win back the trust and business you have squandered with this extensive, long term campaign of bullying and intimidation directed against the backcountry community and those small businesses who can least afford to defend themselves. The good news is that they and other ethical businesses will benefit from the business you have squandered. And they deserve it, while you clearly do not.

Keep lawyers & corporate America reasonable. No one can own words like Backcountry, Mountain or outdoors as trademarks. Exclude words used in regular vernacular from being owned by corporation's, especially corporations that are predatory.

Was a customer of back country for several years bought lots of camping gear and clothing. Thoroughly disgusted in the way they treated other businesses by trying to steal the name backcountry from the outdoor community and damaging several small businesses and costing them thousands in legal fees Is just reprehensible....

Petition is overly emotive. My request is BC.com to stop enforcing Trade Mark rights against smaller players who aren't directly competing, allow them to use "Backcountry" in their branding, and withdraw non-disclosure agreements.

My daughter was affected by your lawyer’s letter and it’s over the top tone and threats.
She had to put her business on pause for 4 months just as it was gaining momentum. Not many businesses could survive that.
