It is outrageous that you have to pay so much to park outside your home. With even more buildings and cars coming into the Greens , it will only get worse. We have 3 bed appt but only 1 space .

It is extremely unfair for residents of The Greens to be facing such parking issues. In Al-Sidir, we have only been given 1 parking space for a 3 bedroom apartment. Owning 4 cars, we have to park the other 3 outside, which is a hassle, and costly. Emaar should issue parking permits to residents, to relieve them off of this unnecessary burden. Why does one have to pay to park in their own house?

My tenancy contract will expire in April, and I dont plan to stay in the Greens if i have to pay for parking my second car.
There are 2 vehicles in the family and the Fairways only has space for 1.
It is ridiculous to see the extend that governmental entities go to take money from us. They know that The Greens is an expat area and that our resistance will not cause them a scratch.
Only a second recession will shake things up again..

It seems paid parking has been started without any prior information or heads up. Today I see that the covers are removed from the paid parking signs. I sincerely hope emaar considers our request to allot resident permits.

WHY PAID PARKING?
It may seem to residents living in other parts of the town that we are crying foul over introduction of paid parking in our community because they stay on rental basis in the city pay for the rent of the apartment!
Plus, the road network were designed in the 80s/90s and nobody could even think of the unexpected, explosive population growth in the past decade!
I say it's even unfair to them to a certain extent!
But what they don't understand is that unlike them, home owners pay an annual maintenance fee. This fee is directed to maintain the ENTIRE community, from building cleanliness to greenery to the up-keeping of the features within community. With introduction of paid parking, this is like a tax for the home owners living in The Greens.
So, these are two different worlds here!
News is that EMAAR has signed a contract to maintain the road network in The Greens. Then EMAAR should deduct the road maintenance fee from the annual maintenance fee.
Doesn't make sense for 2 parties to charge for one cause!
RTAs defense on the whole paid parking in The Greens... “We aim to control the parking in this area. Right now there are people who park their cars for a long time, because it is for free. As a result parking space is not always available.
“With this measure we are hoping to make parking spaces more available to the residents of the community.”
No way on earth is the above statement given is going to turn true. One live example is right in Knowledge Village and Dubai Internet City area!
RTA had reasoned something similar for installing paid parking in Knowledge Village. At the end of the day, nothing changed!
Students and people working in KV find it a pain to find an empty parking slot even if they are willing to PAY!!!
If they say residents are not able to find a parking, then find a solution, but not this one, where the residents can be given identification stickers on the vehicle windshield.

What is really annoying is that given the inexistent public transportation people do NOT have a choice than having a car, actually two cars if u are a family. When Emaar built the greens someone must have thought that 1 parking space was enough ... Well big mistake ! They havent taken into account the reality of living in Dubai. Why should now the residents pay for this mistake ? Not only that, but as a home owner in the greens I am also concerned that this decision will reduce the property value ... Emaar is not responding on their intentions but I sincerely hope they think this through, dont destroy value and maintain the quality of living in the greens as it has been so far . A fair approach would be to issue resident stickers, and allow residents to park their car where they live. By the way, that is what other countries do, even if they have city wide coverage with public transportation (see london) Emaar please dont make this a financial choice you will e destroying value on the long term, the greens is a very nice community, Help us mainain it like this

After making the university area 'Knowledge Village' and making really good money out of it, now they are here for a residential area! This is totally unacceptable and unfair. I wish we could start the same petition for my university parking area.. We are really tired of searching for a parking everyday for at least 15-20 minutes (the max. we had to search 1,5 hour which is unbelievable!) This problem is going on for at least 1 year and nobody does nothing, no act.. The students, the teachers and management of any university or some companies at knowledge village... Everybody who is studying or working there (mostly the students) looks like they are printing money and for them to pay 10 aed everyday is nothing where they come for a studying to their universities. (sorry for my language faults) I HOPE WE CAN CHANGE SOME THINGS in a good way. We have to ACT instead of being SILENT and accepting all wrong rules. Thanks

All residential developments like lakes, springs, meadows etc have free street parking. Think Emaar should close of the area just like the other developments with a boom and only allow residents and signed in visitors in. Secondly they need to sort out a special arrangements for Regent international school, as they also have a huge parking problem at pick up and drop off times.
