31 years is long enough for your mess-up. Everybody deserves a second chance. Thanks

I personally know Michael he's my sons mentor and has helped my son and helped him get into the honor wing at the prison where Michael has been located way to long the prison board needs investigation as they aren't fair! Michael has been before the board way too many times, and add time to his sentence for no good reason the person ahead of it an friend of the victim are using the power to prevent him even getting out! They want to see him die in Prison His story what happened" Michael Smith My Journey " please help him!

Justice allows for compassion. The crime will never change but he has.

This man has served his time. I know a man personally, who received the same charge and served 20 years, and even had a few write-ups, but he is out now. 31 years on the same charge is excessive.

I believe he has shown he is a new person. He has served way to much time and should be released so he can work and be an asset to America instead of a burden. He may have only 15 or so years left to earn money and then retire . he should be given a chance to prove himself in society

Michael smith has been incarcerated since he was just barely an adult and has been a converted believer of Yahshua our messiah for almost as many years as he has been in-prisoned. He has promoted the teachings of our messiah to the in-prisoned tirelessly and has served out more than a life sentence with most respectable conduct. He has repented for his crimes and has served out his time. There is no justice being done by keeping him any further. Those hindering should accept this mans repentance and learn what true forgiveness is. After all all of our forgiveness was obtained by us causing the death of our messiah did we forget? Do we want his forgiveness? Then learn to forgive.

A Mixed up intoxicated teenager did a stupid thing 31 years ago Since he has demonstrated his rehabilitation for the last 20 years it is only a waste of taxpayers money to keep him incarcerated, when it appears he is no longer a danger to society. He has suffered enough.

I have known Mike and Cindy Smith since 2004 ....we met while I was visiting my Mike at the DOC....everything Mr. Smith says in this petition is true I too had done much research on the laws and how the Parole board works....they are allowed to accuse and bring up things that have no barrings on the case and then it's up to 7 people to vote and determine if they feel you have rehabilitated or not. Mike has not had a write up in over 20yrs and I'm sure like my mike they made it sound like it was yesterday. I don't think for a min. that they concider what you have done to prove you are a changed person and the remorse you feel towards the family. Even the new Governor Elect said the Justice system is broken....in my opinion broken is a mild word in Missouri it is plain corrupt!!! I really hope everyone I know and knows my Mike will see that change is possible and that they can be an asset if released... I know several correction officers that have said how disappointed they are that Mr. Smith has not gotten a release date...that in itself should say something cause it is the guards that deal with the inmates day in and out...yet the parole board who (in this case ) see's the inmate once every 5 yrs! Think about this there are at least 1800 inmates in Moberly Correctional Center ( thats not counting how many across the State of Missouri) Yet 7 members of the Parole Board make the decision for every inmate in the Missouri DOC....even the case workers see the inmates at least every 6mo and sometimes more...but most the time even their recommendations are ignored by the parole board. I could go on and on but I wont....Just please please anyone that knows me I beg you to sign this Petition.

My son Tyler Treece has been put into a similar situation as they did not take in consideration any of the documentation or anything else for that matter when sentencing my son to 10 years and Mick Smith has been monumental and getting my son to focus on the better and not being greedy at the system for the way they are doing people there are so many people that's been inJesslee incarcerated or since longer than they should've been I do hope that something is done about this in the system please free Michael Smith has served way longer than he should have and been charged with stuff that was incorrect
