Mike Smith is an amazing man and husband. His character and integrity surpass most people who freely live in society today and I truly believe he will surpass expectations in contributing to society, the lives of his family as well as his community. He is the model of reformation at it’s finest and would be critical in setting the utmost example for others who are trying to change their life as well. Thank you for your time.

It would appear to me by reading Mike's letter he has learned remorse, he has asked for forgiveness, and he has been able to turn his life around. Continued incarceration fulfill's no purposes. I do not know what the years of his sentence was, but it appears the state has the opportunity to parole a human who without a doubt will give back to his community. How can he help others? Faith, conversation, counselling others. I would expect he will give his last years of life to making amends. Please consider parole and a second chance. Thank you.

It’s time for our justice system to release prisoners who have truly shown remorse and have done their time. An 18 year old’s actions should not define the rest of his life.

I used to go visit with my aunt Cindy, he was always so nice,I truly believe he is so very sorry for his actions and would do anything to take what he had done back,,he was young ,and made some bad decisions, that he truly regrets,,I think if he had a chance to show that he grown up became a good man and a man of god,he would thrive, ,please give him this chance to show that he is so much better now and will do better with his life

I am saddened that this is happening, enough is enough his debt has been paid and it’s time to start his life over. I’m also shocked that this hasn’t been taken into the public light somehow. I understand a man died but forgiveness needs to happen and new life begins. I’m praying this is resolved in the year 2020

Mike is a good friend of my son and his wife. I have known Mike's wife Cindy for many years, so I am quite familiar with his situation and the man he has become. He certainly seems to have far surpassed any requirements the penal corrections system may have for a "second chance."
Our Prayers are with you.
