Melisa was my room mate in Prison. We were both locked up for non-violent crimes. We had a lot in common as we were both Social Workers. I saw firsthand what Melisa was going through physically and emotionally. I would help her carry thing's back from our weekly trip's to commissary as she was having a hard time walking and using a cane. I would alway's go with her to the package room to pick up packages. I was paroled in January 2016 and have been back in NYC and thriving. I really hope that She can get an early release. She needs to go home.

Please review the specifics of this case along with medical history and how the history can effect the psychological symptoms. I met her daughter and grandson randomly. Committed and dedicated family to helping this family recover.

I have known Lisa for over 30 years and have nothing but the highest regard. She has made a mistake but she has also paid her punishment to society. Lisa's mental and physical health are at risk. I see no benefit in her incarceration being continued. Lisa is a loving mother, grandmother and friend. I hope her freedom will be seriously considered. Thank You. Virginia Tarbox RN

Please release this lady. She has been in prison long enough. Please allow her to do supervised community service instead of being in prison.

Lisa and I met when she was my oldest daughter's Girl Scout Leader back in '80's. Lisa was a very supportive of me and my family in our many military moves. Having a "Pen Pal" across the world helped me to adjust to the many changes I had to face.... I have visited Lisa several times in prison. I noticed bruises on her arms and legs that caused me much concern..... It is my opinion that Lisa has paid her debt and would be of better service to society if she was released from Prison. Please pray for Lisa and her precious family....

Release her!!!

As a mother I would do anything to protect my children and grandchildren. This woman broke the law yes, however she was trying to protect her family.

I have known Melissa since 1971. In an attempt to come to the aid of her daughter, Melissa made a serious mistake in judgment (where no one was harmed) and received jail time for that mistake. However, what she has had to endure while incarcerated is a bad cliché' right out of the movies. Melissa has suffered both physical and emotional harm during her imprisonment, and this is added on top of numerous and documented pre-existing health problems. The NYSDOCCS should be held accountable for the poor care and treatment of Melissa and other women like her and release Melissa back into society where she can continue her good works and push for reforms to an obviously flawed system.

It's time to give voice to a forgotten population. We need to ask ourselves what purpose does it serve to incarcerate a 61 year old woman? Fear and intent are two factors that need to be taken into account.

I believe Melissa Schonfield should not be held in prison when her medical needs are so substantial.
