This dog was protecting the small child in this incident, and stopped when the aggressive behavior of the human stopped. The dog is not a threat to anyone except someone threatening his people, and shouldn't be euthanized due to a rough-play mishap.

This is ludicrous. Let this dog go back to its family. Tell the nosy neighbor to mind her own business and this county attorney when to go and catch criminals stead of trying to destroy a family's dog.

Please return Marley to his family! He has been trained to protect and this is simply what he was doing when he nipped the 15 year old son. The family has definitely learned you can NOT play with guns & masks! The boy could have just as easily been shot by a policeman! The family has learned from this incident and the dog needs to be returned to this family!!

Please help Marley go to his family! This is a incident that the dog was just protecting another sibling. ANY dog would do this when he thinks there is a threat to someone he loves. Please help him and his family get him back. Thank You. Sharon Dees

How and why is it that humans expect animals to be mind-readers and to know what humans' intentions are when all the signs point to "threat"? I completely understand the "need to protect," but for Heaven's sake, destroying a family and creating a lifetime emotional trauma is completely unnecessary...and cruel on every level. If anything, the family involved should be educated on how not to play to the trained protective instincts of its dog.
