Cost of renting a tv in the hospital is outrageous. At least wifi would help pass the time.

Free wifi is a fundamental need for patient wellbeing. Being out of touch with friends and family is tremendously stressful. Especially when dealing with health issues

Absolutely! It is a must in this day and age! Being able to FaceTime with your sick grandmother or other family member, keeping in touch with friends and family, and being able to watch shows or play games or do research about your decease or medications you’re told to take. Also let’s talk about free parking for every hospital, it ridiculous that people have to pay when visiting a hospital.

As one who recently spent almost 7 months in hospital, I know how badly it is needed. It was my only real form of entertainment and is for many patients. Not everyone can afford TV.

Being a parent of a child who has needed to stay in multiple hospitals, Wifi is a much-welcomed offering from those that offer it, and it is dearly missed when staying in hospitals that don't. It's a good tool to help keep a patient and their families from getting bored when you have to stay in hospital for days, weeks, or longer periods. It's also a great way to keep friends and family updated via social media, without being charged exorbitant fees in the meantime. Wifi in all hospitals is the way to go!!

Even if there was a fee to have access like with the TVs I would be happier.

Being volunteer for Island Health it would be nice to have free WiFi so I can log in and out where I keep my hours as a volunteer

Having spent time as an inpatient or outpatient having lengthy tests this would be a godsend to help families stay connected and to use idle waiting time doing something constructive.

Yes! Internet makes people happier and more patient! 6 hour wait in the ER? No problem if there's wifi.

As someone who spend time in Victoria General Hospital having wi-fi would help with connection to others with similar conditions; connect with family and pass the time in a more positive manner.
