Until you have been in the hospital do you know what it’s like to not have communication. When you are lying in a hospital bed the days are long the nights are even longer.

Having an 8 day stay in RJ this year I really needed to be connected for work as well as all family is in another province and that's our main way to stay in touch.

Wifi is crucial for healing as it provides stimulating connection to the outside world of hospital life - which is essential for mental health.

It's essential to hospitals. Patients and loved ones need to be able to continue to work, study, and prevent social isolation in the hospital. Many patients in the hospital can't afford TV, and WiFi is a much more diverse service anyway.

Absolutely need it in hospitals. Me son spent months there throughout the year, this would have enabled him to connect to his class for school work. Now he is an adult and it is part of his job

Agreed. We do need Wi-Fi. The hospital is miserable and lonely enough.

This is so important for patients who are already having a rough time, to feel socially connected and in touch with the outside world.

I have spent alot of time in the hospital, from a normal 2 weeks to about 3 months in and out. It was very stressful and the tv is to expensive to get when you aren't sure how long you will be in for. You can feel extremely isolated when you stay in your room trying to get healthy, if we had access to internet it would be less lonely. Data prices for phones adds up way to quickly, we really need some free access in our rooms. My husband could actually stay and work by my bed, which would help alot.

As someone who spends sometimes weeks at a time stuck in the hospital. I can’t stress enough how big of a difference this would make for us!
It’s hard enough to heal, but boredom makes the lonely times feel even longer!
