Hospitals can get it installed for free. What's the delay??

This should be made available for free to patients. I am sure that Shaw or Telus would collaborate with hotpots. The technology is there to not interfere with the hospital secure wifi.

I was in Royal Jubilee Hospital for 8 days with no WiFi. I had to get extra data from my cell phone provider. Staying connected to friends/family during this time via social media was incredibly important to my healthy and well being. I was also unable to leave my floor to get out to a hot spot during my stay due to my health condition. I am also a remote tele-worker and can work where ever there is WiFi so this option for me for future Hospital stays is very hand.

Full support for this - patients and visiting families have enough challenges as it is.

I think this is a very important cause. My health team has been advocating for free WiFi at St. Paul's in Vancouver, for many years with no success. As a patient who was hospitalized on a regular basis for weeks at a time, internet is crucial for mental health and fighting feelings of isolation.

surely it can't cost them that much. I was in St. Paul's Hospital (great care there) for 9 days and was using my data and what a difference it made to my bill. On top of being sick I come home to a huge bill from Telus

This is doable for a corporation that goes to great lengths to achieve high standards of patient care.

Extended time in hospital is extremely depressing, Wifi would allow much needed communication and access to activities.

This would be great for when you have to stay in for extended periods of time.

This is sometimes the only way patients can keep in touch with the outside world so yes there should be free WiFi as there is in all the hospital's that i have visited both here on the island as well as the mainland

I was recently on the island when my mom had heart failure. She was in the hospital for 2 weeks. I used up 2 months of data just sitting there while she slept because there was no wifi. And there is only so much books etc to play. Definately needed wifi
