Internet connection while in hospital is a must, bills need to be paid no mater where you are. The health and outcome of the patients is also better when they can communicate with others be they near or far...

This is the 21st century, we all use smart phones, tablets, or computers. It would be nice to have access to free WiFi while in the hospital.

This should be mandatory at all hospitals so people can be in touch with families. friends and for their entertainment. It will help people feel connected and less isolated.

My daughter was medivacced to Vancouver from Whitehorse. She spent 2 months in hospital til she passed. She was unable to have contact with many loved ones. Also she was unable to entertain herself, aside from a few old dvds . I would've like to relay information to loved ones,
and look up treatments and procedures.

As someone who spends 7-14 days in hospital per year, I very much would like wi-fi. It is very isolating and conversely expensive if data is used.

As a parent with children that have had to spend long terms in the hospitals free wifi would have made a huge difference emotionally and educationally to them. As a working parent I would have been able to do a portion of my work at the hospital as well as a result I would not have had to deal with wage loss and the stresses that brought into our lives as well.

12 days in VGH, super sick, no wifi. Totally cut off from my family & friends. Had to mask up & leave the hospital to access the internet. Not optimal! Would have happily paid for wifi if that had even been an option. Please hospitals, get with the times!

Not only do hospitals need free wifi, but they need wifi that is not restricted like most have now.

As a nurse, I see people needing wifi to communicate with friends and family members, for entertainment, and also to help them access their health information as well as do research. With restrictive privacy guidelines, staff aren’t able to tell family much, so the patient needs an ability to communicate and keep their family up to date on their situation.

I have chronic health problem that means I’m in the hospital frequently. Having WiFi would mean I wouldn’t be worried about using my devices and how much data I’ve used.

As a frequent patient this would be amazing to have.

This would have been great when my newborn was in the NICU for over a week! There was no cell phone service in there but there was data so I relied on that to get ahold of family members, friends and support groups while I was struggling with dealing with one child in hospital and another at home with my mother. As if parking wasn’t crazy enough ($40 a day for over a week adds up fast!) I also paid an extra $100 for my husband and my phone combined for that week because of all the data we used. Every hospital has terrible cell service (if they have any at all) but there’s always wifi somewhere and data so this would help a lot of families who are trying to contact people outside of the hospital.
