It is unbelievable what this dept and its detectives have done to this poor young man. He has already served his entire sentence until now when the truth is coming out. He deserves to be compensated for all the time that has been taken from him and I think the state should pay and the Gov't that runs the state. This should never have been allowed to happen to this poor young man and his family. His life is forever changed in so many ways. Where can we get his information so we can send letters of support? Someone plz let us know.

Its scary to think that this could happen to anyone. I am disgusted just thinking about How many innocent men and women are incarcerated right now. This young man has lost over 20 years of his life and when released he might get an apology. I think in these cases that the parties responsible should have to do the same time in prison as the innocent person they falsely accused and incarcerated.

I believe detective orchestrated the whole conviction. He is racist n didnt care who went down for it as long as the department got a conviction. He needs to pay for his crimes as a police officer. Clearly lying.

I feel that the evidence says it all. As for the gf of the guy that was murdered has something to do with why he was murdered thats why she declined to say anything and was sure to clean out the truck. As for the witness saying they heard her yelling out the other guys name. So come on whomever dont see that is playing blind mice and looking the other way. It makes the detectives and people from the courts look bad to keep playing dumb. I think they look better if they just open their eyes and see whats in front of them the truth and hold that female accountable for her part in murder of her bf.

This young man’s life has been completely destroyed. Not only did the informant lie the police officer lied and now his father has passed away, all this for some thing he did not do!! it’s time to release this young man and let him carry on the rest of his life and for the state of Washington to compensate him for the wrong

I believe in his innocence. Watch Joe Berlinger's WRONG MAN- STARZ DOCUMENTARY. The team did an awesome job of more than proving his innocence. I cannot even imagine what hell JR and his family have been through all these years. I cried when I heard his phone call to the team... sad tears to hear him describe what he’s been through, especially going straight to an ADULT PRISON at only 16yrs old... happy tears when he realized the new evidence the team brought to light.

I have seen the documentary on the Evaristo Sala's case. I belive his innocent with the prove they gathered, it seemes the the sunnyside police department does not to go to court for the reason they do not want the world to know that their office is corrupt! As well to have to apologize to this poor man for taking away his life for 20 years. Mr Salas was a teen wrongfully convicted! someone has to pay for that injustice. I pray Mr Salas comes home soon. For Mrs Areola she's going to have to explain all the lies she did and actions she took and go to jail for this injustice towards Mr Salas. I'm sorry for the victim's family and their pain, they have to open their eyes and let this young man Mr Salas go! for his innocent and bring whom ever did this even if its their daughter inlaw at that time.
