Known Ben since he was a baby. The lads never had a bad bone in his body. Drink takes us down a nasty path sometimes unfortunately this was one of them.

Give the boys a sentence they deserve.. Community work, A suspended jail sentence is a better punishment for someone who has a family and goes to work and is truly remorseful, but the threat of going to jail is still there to remind them !! They are not murderers !! My heart breaks for their families

I have known Ben for almost 7 years now and I have no hesitation in backing him up with this all the way. He has been open and honest all the way through the trial, only to become a victim himself at the end of it.
I just hope for his sake and family that the appeal process does what it's intended for and that he gets what he deserves....A FAIR trial.
How is it that someone who kills another in a hit and run gets 5 years, yet someone like Ben who has never been in trouble gets 7 and a half years for punching someone ONCE (which he openly admitted to doing on day 1 in court)?????
Justice needs to be served on a very BIG plate with this one!
