Not sure why parallel parking is needed? Why would it be a better to take away parking for parking that not everyone can handle?? NO vote from me, sorry.

I am not a resident of Fredericktown, but I do support the Fredericktown downtown businesses! One of my favorite outings is to come shop downtown Fredericktown.......the antique shop, thrift store, eating in one of the many great restaurants! I love to be in a thriving downtown and that is what Fredericktown currently is...I do not parallel park so that would prohibit me from coming, and I see no problem with the angle parking anyway..........if you need an example, look at downtown Mount Vernon with the parallel parking: there is not nearly enough parking downtown and the merchants suffer from that situation! Please do not mess with the merchants and customers like me who enjoy Fredericktown as a shopping destination!!

Why limit the already limited parking on the area of Main Street that contains several thriving businesses? I agree with many Fredericktown residents stating the facts that it will limit parking and add to the congestion in that area.

Parallel parking is the worst idea. Why take away parking. This would hurt downtown businesses and take away parking for the elderly and disabled. If you want to change the parking why not change the parallel parking to angle parking to create additional parking.

The downtown businesses struggle enough with the limited parking we have on Main St. A large population of our community re people of more advanced age and this parallel parking can be difficult. Simply limit the length of a vehicle that can pull into the current spaces and have them park in the parking lot or other parallel spaces further up the street

I avoid parallel parking at all costs. Changing the parking to parallel would greatly reduce my support of Fredericktown businesses

Was a bad idea when discussed in the past, is still a bad idea now. Even in communities I know where the streets are wide enough to allow for such parking (ours are nowhere near wide enough, and fixing them would be a waste of Village money) there are still very limited spots. Most folks can't consistently parallel park (much of the world isn't designed this way anyway) so we don't practice it (and don't need to). We'd lose patronage downtown (which we are trying to revitalize, so how this would help is unclear). More visible signage and better control of speed & existing space would be a more useful & long-term way for Council to move on this issue. Keep us in Fredericktown, not out.

Agreeing with most of the comments already mentioned.
Parallel parking would be a congested mess. The time it takes to angle park is insignificant compared to how long it would take someone to parallel park. I feel it would make Main St. much more congested!

Parallel parking would decrease the amount of parking available on Main street and would therefore decrease the patronage of our main street businesses. Please do not change the parking on main street. The main businesses I support on Main street so far are Taste of Country and Aunt Ruth's Attic, and Inter-church with an occasional visit to the bank.

Limit the length of vehicle that can park in the pull in spaces and have them park in the parallel spaces a block away if that is the problem.

The parking currently is the best plan for this small town. Many people especially the elderly may not be able to parallel park. Why change what already works?

Angle parking is easier and will hold more cars than parallel parking

Village council should think about the elderly people that come up to the taste of country and other bussiness that do not know how to parreell parking

Parking can already be hard to find downtown. Parellel parking would only take away spaces and make congestion worse.
